SAP Finance Functional Lead / Solution Architect / Project Manager

This is a senior, high-impact SAP role within a complex, global enterprise where SAP Finance is central to business performance and growth. You’ll play a critical role in shaping financial processes, leading large-scale SAP initiatives, and influencing how the organization evolves on S/4HANA.

Role Summary
The SAP Finance Functional Lead is responsible for end-to-end solution design and delivery across SAP Finance in ECC and S/4HANA environments. This role gathers business requirements, configures and optimizes SAP financial processes, and leads major initiatives such as upgrades and transformations.
You’ll act as both a functional expert and project leader—driving initiatives from design through deployment, managing cross-functional resources, and serving as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Lead SAP Finance solution design, configuration, and delivery at the project level

Own financial process design across Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and Procure-to-Pay

Serve as functional lead and project manager on large SAP initiatives (e.g., upgrades, enhancements)

Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions and best-practice designs

Partner with business, IT, and external consultants to resolve complex issues and drive outcomes

Lead testing strategy, execution, and validation for unit and integration testing

Support and optimize integrated solutions including Vertex, Paymetric, BPC, and AP automation tools

Drive user adoption through training, documentation, and process redesign

Provide ongoing production support while identifying continuous improvement opportunities

Contribute to SAP standards, governance, and roadmap planning
Required Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on SAP Finance experience (FI required; SD experience strongly preferred)

Bachelor’s degree required

Strong configuration and business process expertise in SAP Finance

Experience leading large SAP projects in ECC and/or S/4HANA environments

Ability to articulate and design for key differences between ECC and S/4HANA

Experience in globally integrated SAP environments across multiple company codes and regions

Strong project leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms

Ability to manage multiple initiatives with minimal supervision
